do you think writing up 30 pages of detailed explanation is constructive?

do you think taking weeks to try to hash out the details over email is
constructive?

in all cases, whether it is constructive depends on what people do with it.  

sometimes a terse message works better, sometimes not.  sometimes no form of
input will help.  even so, silence is taken as acceptance, so voicing some
objection is better than nothing.
