The Kobe "revolution"

Folks,

By way of satisfying the need for alternate sources of the history
lesson, as well as satisfying some people's prurient interest in
reading gruesome detail, here are citations that might be helpful:

<http://www.mids.org/pay/mn/1007/tea.html> is a pretty good summary
and analysis. I'd quibble with bits of it, but quibbling isn't
productive.

<http://ietf.org/rfc/rfc1640.txt?number=1640> is a detailed report
from the person who led the constructive outcome of the Kobe revolt.
(He keeps saying that his primary leadership was waiting for some
other folks to come up with the solutions.)

The IETF mailing list archive is always an entertaining source of
detail. <ftp://ftp.ietf.org/ietf-mail-archive/ietf/>. Especially take
a look at July of 1992.
