Raise you concerns with the responsible AD.  If they hear
similar concerns from several different people, they'll
probably do something about it.

Hopefully, the IESG/IAB folks are not the only people in the
IETF with broad technical knowledge.  They may be the only
ones who can work full-time (or almost full-time) for the IETF,
but we should be able to figure out some way to leverage
knowledgeable people who are willing to contribute part-time
in this type of capacity.
