Longer or more meetings?

Perhaps there are other ways to solve the "exclusionary" problem...

Perhaps we could charge money for attendance at the interim meetings
(something small that most companies wouldn't balk at), and the chairs
and/or ADs could use that money to fund travel for subject-matter
experts who don't have corporate backing (academicians, consultants,
the momentarily unemployed...).
