This is correct and desirable. Peter's scenario of "X as spoken in a
male/female voice" isn't the same as "X as spoken/written with a
gender-specific dialect/grammar/vocabulary." The former is generic; the
latter is language-specific, and would require separate variant subtags
for each such language.
