"Simplified" as opposed to "Traditional Chinese" is not a language distinction but rather a distinction in written form -- orthography. ISO 639 does not make such distinctions. The ISO 639-2/T identifier "zho" is used for both.

To distinguish these, you can use the RFC 3066bis tags "zh-Hans" and "zh-Hant."
