  While we’re on the subject, Olaus Magnus’ Carta Marina from 1539
(http://www.ub.uu.se/collections/selections-of-special-items-and-collections/carta-marina/)
uses the latinisation ELVEDALĪ.  I’m not saying this should influence
the decision about the English name one way or the other, it’s more of a
historical curiosity.
