Thanks for the explanation.

So, as I understand it, there is no specific plan to prepare an RFC
defining some extension tags at this time. Rather, you just wanted to
get a complete yet extensible syntax defined so that implementations
could be developed now and not be forced to be re-engineered in a few
years if there is some future revision to add some new extended
capability.

Right?

If that's the case, then it seems like a reasonable idea.
