Hi,

Welcome to the old-standards list, and thanks for participating in this 
experiment.  This list is for discussion of old protocols/specifications 
that either should be removed from the books, or perhaps advanced.  I'd 
like to begin discussion in a few days, to give people a chance to sign 
up for the mailing list.  In the meantime you might want to take a look 
at the existing proposed and draft standards (which is where I propose 
we start) and see if you see one that you know should be advanced or 
retired.  After the next kickoff message we'll need to see what sorts of 
candidates we have, and then organize to determine which ones to deal 
with first.
