Malayalam: ml-puthiya, ml-pazhaya

Purely from a standpoint of clerical consistency, I would want these to
be:

   Description: Reformed Malayalam orthography

   Description: Traditional Malayalam orthography

with the first word capitalized. 

The Wikipedia article mentions two reforms, "[i]n 1969–1971 and in
1981," but only describes an "old" and "new" orthography. Was the 1981
reform simply a fine-tuning or clarification of what happened in 1971,
or is there a third orthography out there?
