i think it's worthwhile to point out that Michael Everson is the 
Language Subtag Reviewer, and it is ultimately his decision as Reviewer 
which subtags to approve and which to reject.  The rest of us offer what 
advice and expertise we can, but we do not "vote."  And the Reviewer is 
observing a two-week review period for this request as required by RFC 
4646.  I would expect him to consider informed input during the entire 
review period, which will end April 13, not only for a few more days.

+1  I am for continuing the review for the whole two-week period; what I meant was that I did not want to just say which form I preferred--tarask or tarashk--till we waited at least a bit to hear from more speakers of the language (I'm not one).

I stand corrected; thanks for this reminder to everyone.
