Eastern refers to Armenian as spoken in Armenia. Western means 
Armenian in diaspora. So Eastern and Western is not the only way of 
describing the varieties, and Eastern means "Armenian in Armenia" and 
Western mostly means "Armenian in France and California".

Generic terms like these are a bad idea.
