For HTTP, things are easy if set up correctly. In the above scenario,
the server side gets both domain names (in some bundling variants,
one gets only one, the other stays reserved, but that won't work here),
puts up a server for each (may be the same server for both), and for
the side with the less desirable name, makes sure that a temporary
redirect or a Location header with the more desirable name is sent.

But that won't work for FTP. There may be other things that work
for other protocols.
