MIME media types in RFC 4047

We have been informed that RFC 4047 is published.

RFC 4047 defines two new top-level MIME media types:
image/fits
application/fits

The IANA web pages
http://www.iana.org/assignments/media-types/application/
http://www.iana.org/assignments/media-types/image/
have not been updated to indicate that publication
has occurred.

Do the authors of the RFC need to make any further explicit request to
the IANA, or should we simply await the next update?
