Hoi,
In Ethnologue the Dutch variations of "Low Saxon" have been split into separate languages while the German entities are left as dialects. The WMF Low Saxon community wants to start a Wikisource that will be inclusive of both German and Dutch Low Saxon texts. In my appreciation, we need an overarching group for the whole of Low Saxon. Now as we are supporting groups in ISO-639-5, it seems reasonable to ask for this,
Thanks,
Gerard

2009/2/23 Randy Presuhn <randy_presuhn@mindspring.com>

> Hoi,
> What I am looking for is a code that includes all the Low Saxon languages.

...

Just to be clear, do you mean
(1) the various languages spoken in the geographical area of Lower Saxony,
regardless of their respective genetic histories
(2) a genetic grouping centered around one of the languages called
Low Saxon?
(3) something else?
