We should choose one only, the one we deem most appropriate, given the 
extent of knowledge and expertise and research available to the 
requester and the Reviewer and other list members at the present time. 
Then we should embrace our choice as an acceptable solution for 
identifying and locating Erzgebirgisch content, and not continue on an 
endless quest to make our solution even more perfect, even if it turns 
out in the future that another choice might have been incrementally 
better.  Variants are simply not as precise as this discussion is making 
them out to be.

The decision should be made by:

primarily, Thomas as the originator of the request,

secondly, Michael as Language Subtag Reviewer,

thirdly, Randy and any others who have firsthand knowledge and/or 
scholarly insight into the region and language(s) at issue, and

finally, the rest of us who may know something about language tagging 
but not much about Erzgebirgisch.
