ISO 639 Registration Authorities' Joint Advisory Committee has decided:

Based on a formal request from the National Standardization Bodies and the National Libraries of Croatia and Serbia the language identifiers for Serbian and Croatian are changed as below in the ISO 639-2 B table to correspond to the ISO 639-2 T table. This change also supports established usage in bibliographic databases in Croatia. As the old identifiers are deprecated (obsolete), rather than deleted, they may still appear in bibliographic records created before the implementation of this change.

Reference name: Serbian
Old identifier B table: scc
Identifier T table: srp
New identifier B table and T table: srp

Reference name: Croatian
Old identifier B table: scr
Identifier T table: hrv
New identifier B table and T table: hrv

Best regards,
Håvard Hjulstad
(ISO 639 RAs-JAC secretary)
