I agree that there was general support for at least the NTA subtag, but 
the question of what to call it became more important as the political 
and cultural implications became more clear.  So I think it is important 
for Reşat to state his preference, and register it (assuming it is 
syntactically legal).

I haven't heard any mention of the "iqtelif" subtag in a while, except 
for me asking what happened to it.
