Sure.
I agree that browsers could do better at distinguishing the domain from
the rest. I'm currently evaluating the Firefox extension Locationbar^2,
which makes it bold. I rather like the effect, although it needs some UI
tweaks.

I agree that making domain names distinct from the rest of the URL
merely by restricting the IDN characters available is a tough job.
However, I also don't want to turn the URL bar into a kaleidoscope of
colours, indicators and dividers, as some (not here) have suggested.
