IESG Retreat Notes - April 2001

These notes are merely an excuse to present the pictures. Read as such.
(NOTE: All the pictures are quite large. I've used HTML size coding to get them to fit on the page; if you use "view" on them, you will be able to see more detail....)

We gathered at bucolic Endicott House, sponsored by MIT.

Present were the IESG, the IAB chair and liaison, and Steve and Marcia as representatives of the Secretariat.

In the discussions, as usual, there were 2 dominant factors:

Connecivity was excellent; sometimes we wondered whether this is good or bad.

The first day was mostly focused on getting architectures of areas in place. Some were good - in particular Scott & Randy committed a nice picture of the SubIP Area

which Bert immediately immortalized into ASCII art:

Slightly more readable!
The AAA process gave itself easily to a presentation.

The robot on the left is an example of inappropriate extensibility.

All this inspired Patrik to draw up the architecture of the applications area for us all (outside the session):

And to finish off, we did one for the management part of O&M:

Endicott House will be remembered also for its fine lunches and dinners; this picture in particular is from our last gathering on Thursday evening.

All in all, a Good Time was had by all. I hope we learned something.
