Review of Status with NeuStar

Leslie Daigle described the initial responses to the drafts of the note to the community that were circulated; the responses so far are favorable.

The Committee discussed strategy going forward. Steve Crocker reminded the Committee that the IETF and ISOC were not bound by US Government procurement rules, but instead have considerably more flexibility, if it was necessary to take the route of a formal RFP.

Note to the community

The status of the note to the community was discussed briefly. The release of this note in its current form requires approval of the wording from Foretec. It was decided to wait 24 hours before inquiring about the status of a response from them.

Job Description Status

The job announcement was judged to be completed, and the Committee authorized its distribution, which was begun while the meeting was still in session.

The release of the job announcement is a marker of a significant advancement in the status of the IETF restructuring, and the Committee decided to explore creating and releasing a press release about the IETF restructuring. The mechanisms for doing this were discussed and it was decided to use the normal procedure of going through ISOC and Peter Godwin.

The minutes of the meetings to date were discussed. The minutes are judged to require minor changes; while the implementation of the public wiki was approved.

Other Business

A call between the ISOC Finance team, the IASA TT Financial team and the BCP editors the morning of the meeting was described at length for the Committee members who did not participate. The Committee feels that it is important to know what the total costs to run IETF activities are, and to gain a good an understanding as possible of the infrastructure investments made by any contractor.
