IETF activities
Since March of 2001, I have been Chair of the IETF.
Before that, I was a member of the Internet
Architecture Board, a governing body of the IETF.
Before that, I have been Area Director for Operations
and Management (April 1998 to April 1999) and before that, I was area
director for Applications for three
years.
I've written or co-written a couple of documents:
-
RFCs 1494, 1495
and 1496, about gatewaying
between MIME and X.400.
-
RFC 1502, on dealing
with character sets in X.400
-
RFC 1685, on writing
O/R names
-
RFC 1766, on tags
for the identification of languages
I am also trying to keep an eye on, or otherwise influence, various topics.
NOTE: Most of this material is hopelessly outdated!
This site hosts at least one
IETF-related mailing list (ietf-types)
You can also look at some IETF Chair related stuff, such as how
to claim expenses.
